Answer “where is my check?” from one screen.
Every payment with its USPS status, days outstanding and cashed date. Uncashed checks aged by 30, 60 and 90 days and reissued from the row. A payment history on every contact, so the call takes ten seconds instead of twenty minutes.

What it does
From mailed to cashed. Every payment out, with where it is and how long it has been there.
Track every check to cashed
USPS scans from mailed to delivered, then the cleared date and check image from your bank feed.A status column on every payment: Mailed, In transit, Delivered, Cashed.
Age what hasn't cleared

No scan after 14 days (your setting) flags the check; after your void window it goes on the list you send your bank."Not delivered · 91+ days · $8,075".
Reissue from the row
Three dots → Reissue: a new check with the same documents; the old number is superseded and logged; you place the stop at the bank from the number and image. Two checks on one payment, both on the case.
Remind payees who haven't cashed
Email reminders at 30 and 60 days, configured per firm; a mailed follow-up letter on request."Reminder sent" on the payment timeline.

What it solves
Answers in the row, not the bank portal. Each is a line on the screen.
"Where's my check?" takes twenty minutes and a bank login.
Status and check image on the row; payment history on the contact.
"Delivered 09/18 · Not cashed yet · 12 days".
Uncashed checks sit in trust for months and nobody notices until month-end.
Aging by bucket with totals; reminders on a schedule.
"All outstanding · 91+ days · $189,620" (illustrative).
Reissuing means redoing the payment and losing the trail.
Reissue from the row; old number superseded; a void log for your bank and your books.
Two checks on one payment, both logged.
What the bar asks about.
Three questions a managing partner asks about the balance. Tap one.
Do you send our checks?
Yes, with every document. Each check is printed and mailed for you, drawn on your own IOLTA with your check number and your firm on the envelope. The lien letter, the signed statement, and anything else you attach go in the same envelope. You see it mailed, delivered, and cashed.
What does the audit log show?
One log per payment: who prepared it, who approved it, and when it was sent, delivered, and cashed. Uncashed checks are aged by days outstanding. Every open case shows its settlement, what is still in trust, and who has been paid, so nothing lives in a side spreadsheet.
How does month-end work?
Because every deposit, payout, and case cost posts as it happens, month-end is a review, not a rebuild. Disbo prepares the adjusted bank balance, the trust journal, and the client ledgers side by side, itemizes any difference, and exports the report for your accountant and the bar. In beta.
Questions about payment tracking.
Can Disbo stop a check?
No. You place the stop with your bank; Disbo gives you the check number and image the moment the check is drawn. Some firms add a 24-hour delay before checks are drawn so a mistake can be caught first.
A check came back in the mail.
Returned mail goes to your return address. Fix the address on the contact and reissue from the row.
Does the void list reach the bank?
A daily export of voids and positive-pay items in your bank's layout, set up with our team. Direct bank connections are in build.
What about electronic payments?
Sent, then settled, with the date. A returned ACH shows on the row and the payee is invited again.
Who can see this?
Anyone with a viewer role: attorneys, case managers, your outside CPA. Nobody has to ask accounting.
